Temperatures and snow to fall Tuesday night
Those traveling around the Minneapolis area on Thanksgiving Day may have to deal with up to 3 inches of snow throughout the day. Another, more potent front should reach the area by the middle part of next week pushing temperatures down for the first few days of December. Oakland saw 72 degrees on Sunday, but not for long. Lows will drop to 35 degrees in the Upstate and 30 degrees in the mountains by Wednesday morning.
The forecast still looks cloudy with occasional showers through Tuesday. A band of moderate rain is expected from eastern Texas to southern Missouri with lighter rain farther north Saturday.
Wednesday night: A slight chance of showers then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight.
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Computer models are now hinting at. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
The only area of significant concern would be the Pacific Northwest, where an approaching storm is slated to bring rain to the coast and snow the the mountains.
Wind and waves will pose a hazard to smaller craft on Lake Michigan through Friday night, forecasters warn.
Highs on Tuesday will be in the upper 60s, and we’ll be in the upper 70s by Thanksgiving day. Rain chances will stay in the 20% range today and 10% for Friday and Saturday.
A second wave of rain is expected late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.
Friday: A 40 percent chance of snow before noon, high near 35.
Rain also may great Black Friday shoppers with the temperature topping out near 50 degrees.
