Israeli forces kill two more Palestinians
According to the police, the 51-year-old Samir Seresi left his auto and tried to stab an officer with a knife, and officers at the scene shot him.
Her cousin, 16-year-old Hadeel Wajih Awad, was shot dead after stabbing a 70-year-old Palestinian in the back with scissors in Jerusalem – in what is assumed to have been a case of mistaken identity, as Palestinians have targeted Israelis in a wave of knife attacks in recent weeks.
In the latest violence, two Palestinian men were shot dead on Thursday by the Israeli army and police forces in east Jerusalem near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, the officials said. “A Palestinian assailant stabbed and wounded an Israeli at the Al Fawwar junction”, the military said in a statement.
“As a result, many Palestinians build without permits to meet their housing needs and risk having their structures demolished”. Another possibility, also reported in the past, is revoking the Palestine Liberation Organization’s recognition of Israel, which formed the basis of the 1993 Oslo Accords.
“We intend to bring a far more massive barrier there”, he said. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he opposes confidence-building gestures to the Palestinians until the violence subsides. Palestinians accuse Israel of using excessive force in suppressing violence.
Israel blames the violence on incitement by Palestinian leaders and on social media sites.
“The extremely hard conditions under which Palestinians are living, the criminal settler acts, collective punishments, arrests, extra-judicial assassinations, economic siege and the lack of a political horizon are all reasons that created desperation and hopelessness among the Palestinians”, Abbas said.
According to the report, after Kerry failed to make progress on the Palestinian front, Netanyahu convened the cabinet to discuss recently acquired information that the Palestinians were planning new processes against Israel in the diplomatic arena.
The bill, announced on parliament’s website, follows a law adopted in early November to toughen penalties against Palestinians for throwing rocks at civilians and security personnel.
