PoK will remain with Pakistan, J&K will remain with India: Farooq Abdullah
“PoK belongs to Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir belongs to India, this is how things will remain”, Abdullah told the media here.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah has said the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) would remain with Pakistan, while Jammu and Kashmir would be with India. But what did you do?
He added that war is not the solution and only lives are lost as a result of it. “Dialogue is the only option”, he insisted. His comment has drawn sharp reactions.
“1994 Parliament resolution clearly said PoK is constitutionally a part of India”, he said.
BJP lawmaker RK Singh, a former Home Secretary, said: “This is a bogus statement”.
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed surprise over the treatment given by the TV news channels to his father Farooq Abdullah’s views on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. “I am born from this soil and I will die in this soil”, Mr Abdullah said. Abdullah made the comments while responding to questions on the controversy over film star Aamir Khan’s “leaving India” comments. It is a wrong propaganda against him.
On the issue of resumption of cricket ties between the two nations, he said that the situation in this country was such that India and Pakistan had to find a third country to host the series.
