PES 2016 free-to-play confirmed, coming December
Set to launch exclusively on PlayStation platforms, the free-to-play version of PES 2016 works in a similar way to the game’s demo.
After being outed earlier this week, Konami has confirmed the existence of a free-to-play version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2016.
While it looks like little more than an extended demo on paper, restricted as it is to just seven teams, it’ll also offer players access to the game’s My Club mode, which allows them to build their own teams from scratch by buying players with in-game currency either earned or purchased.
With Konami insisting that PES 2016 “is world renowned for its stunning recreations of players”, it seems that the publisher wants to reinforce this statement by having Data Pack 2 include the real-life facial features of 51 footballers.
The new free-to-play soccer game will be available from December 8th onwards and provide an entry-level version of the game will be available to download for free for PS4 and PS3. According to Konami, players will be able to recruit new members via points earned in matches or MyClub Coins, which might be available through microtransactions.
PES 2016 comes with the same gameplay experience of its predecessors enriched by a variety of new features. Only PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions were announced. We will let you know more about the game’s free to play version as well as on any other update as soon as possible so stay tuned for all the latest news on Konami’s big sports game.
