Santa Claus is coming to downtown Carleton Place Nov. 28
“It’s joy, it’s happiness, it’s smiles, it’s helping people and it’s peace”, said John O’Connor, who also goes by Santa.
The Brockville Rotary Santa Claus Parade will start at North Augusta Road and Pearl Street then travel West on Pearl Street E.to Park Street, South on Park Street and lastly, West on King Street to Gilmore Street.

The Ephrata Merchants Association will help Santa Claus arrive in Ephrata and safely reach the Ephrata National Bank to retrieve the magical book of children’s names from the vault.
“Santa’s Arrival is by far our biggest event of the year, with an average of more than 5,000 guests joining us for this unforgettable holiday experience”, says Kym Espinosa, Director of Marketing for Promenade Temecula.
In addition to the parade, the Chamber of Commerce is also offering area residents another chance to donate to the McKenzie County Food Pantry.
“They’ll give the signal and flick the lights on, and all of the lights will be up downtown”, she said. But at least one shopper said it will keep him coming back this Christmas.
The evening wraps up with a free bonfire and tree-lighting ceremony at the Taylor Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, also at Heritage Park.
“So kids can come and roast marshmallows on the square and make s’mores”, Cooper said.
Santa will bring up the end of the parade.
Antique fire trucks, tractors, local police and fire vehicles and several floats now light up the night as the parade makes it way around town.
According to the BIA website, “the Carleton Place BIA Whoville Santa Claus Parade is where we will stand heart to heart and hand to hand listening to singing and dancing welcoming the season’s meaning!”
The walk begins at 7 p.m. from Our Lady of Mercy Church at the corner of Pine and Wilson streets.
