Jerry Jones Is Really, Really Happy To Have Tony Romo Back

The Cowboys once again reclaimed the lead on Romo’s 16-yard pass to Bryant.

Dallas’ 24-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins was its first since a Week 2 win over the Eagles when Romo fractured his left collarbone.

The Dallas Cowboys are 3-0 this season when Tony Romo starts and 0-7 when he doesn’t.

“More than anything, it felt good to get back and play football and help your team win.” said Romo.

Romo, despite those two interceptions was pretty sharp in his return, especially given the completely mediocre play from an offensive line that is by no means the best blocking front of its kind in the NFL. “It’s one of those teams you have to stand up and fight and outlast them, and our guys did that”.

Not surprisingly, Romo looked a bit rusty.

So invigorated was Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, he turned to club PR man Rich Dalrymple and announced, “Our theme is, Romo makes a difference”. This week is so short it’s really tough to get all the game planning or film study that you want.

When asked if he has concern about Romo playing two games in five days, Jones said after Sunday’s game, “No, no, I do not….” Without Romo in 2015 they are 0-7.

Miami (4-6) was led by quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who threw two touchdown passes. The Dolphins had nine flags accepted on them on Sunday, giving Dallas a free 74 yards.

“(Dropped passes) and penalties really killed us”, Campbell said.

“We’ve still got a chance”, defensive end Olivier Vernon said.

When former coach Joe Philbin was on the hot seat, players publicly backed him. As a team, the Dolphins averaged five yards a carry, with Miller, Tannehill, and rookie Jay Ajayi all recording multiple attempts, but they only totaled 14 carries as a group. If you starting to wonder if the talent is more to blame than the coaching, then you are on to something.

“We’ll just take it in stride”, Rivera said. Tannehill threw a brutal pick-six interception – he failed to see Dallas middle linebacker Rolando McClain in the flat – but give the Dolphins QB some credit. I hated that Dallas was forced to wear the blue jerseys the last couple of years.

The Dolphins entered the game second-to-last in rushing defense at 135.6 yards allowed per game.

Jason Witten caught only two balls on the day for 27 yards, but as usual, his contributions were timely. Here are the remaining contests for Dallas, which I think are all matches The Boys can win. On the flip side, the Carolina Panthers are undefeated, scrappy and more than willing to beat up anyone who dares to face off against them on the gridiron. Miller is a home-run type of back.

However, there was light at the end of the tunnel during Week 11 – in the form of their returning Pro-Bowl quarterback Tony Romo.
