Shoppers get up early for holiday deals

The line between Thanksgiving dinner and Black Friday shopping has become blurred.
Folks lined the sidewalk outside of J.C. Penny’s in Pike County to get a head start on their Christmas shopping. At a Best Buy in Amherst, New York, a long line of people snaked in as police – who were there to keep the peace – looked on with little to do. “And we’re here for two of the sofa sleepers”, Michelle Robinson said.
“Most of the shoppers have been through this before in previous years, so they kind of know what to expect, know how we work”, manager Tim Lundberg told NBC station WGRZ of Buffalo.
The National Retailer Federation estimates more than 135 million people will shop this weekend, about 30 million on Thanksgiving alone.
