Chicago Bears Oust Green Bay Packers

Jay Cutler threw for 200 yards and a score, and the Bears held off the Packers on fourth-and-goal from the 8 with 22 seconds left for a 17-13 victory Thursday at Lambeau Field. In the end, the Bears came out on top, 17-13, according to ESPN. “Yeah, we’re missing some guys but that’s nothing new”, Cutler, who also missed one game in September, told reporters.

You never want to give a quarterback of Rodgers’s caliber the ball in great field position, but if the Bears had gotten one yard, they could have attempted to put the game to rest much sooner.

At this point, barring a major shift in scheme or play-calling, which appears unlikely, it’s worth wondering if the makeup of the Packers’ current offensive personnel is good enough.

But the vibe at Lambeau simply couldnt get past the small deficit the Packers had allowed. Some might debate that the Packers are still among the league’s best, but in the NFC North, they are still the team to beat.

“Our passing game is not where it needs to be”, McCarthy said Friday morning.

And another thing: Fangio might be coaching himself out of Chicago and into a head coaching job before that comes close to happening.

The victory over Green Bay kept the Packers from evening the all-time series at 93 each and snapped a four-game Bears losing streak to Green Bay. He was not afraid to play physically at the line of scrimmage, and he proved to be an effective tackler in open space. Rodgers was banged up in the third quarter after a hit from Lamarr Houston, but he was able to stay in the game.

You probably know Tracy Porter, and if you didn’t know him before the fourth quarter, then you certainly knew the growing coverage monster constantly making plays on the ball after his interception. With a schedule that features San Francisco and Washington at home, Minnesota and Tampa Bay on the road and Detroit at home, the Bears have a realistic shot of winning four of their last five.
