Eskimos receivers ready for Grey Cup
Ottawa Redblacks coach Rick Campbell says he expects minimal lineup changes for Sunday’s Grey Cup game against the Edmonton Eskimos.
“There are some guys I’ve been around over the years, they want stats and they want to play all the time and all that stuff”, Campbell said.
On Sunday, Burris and Co. face the Edmonton Eskimos in the Grey Cup game. Inking a bevy of receivers before the 2015 season-Chris Williams, Greg Ellingson and Ernest Jackson among them-provided Burris with a bunch of weapons. Are they in Sunday’s game if not for Derel Walker, who should win rookie of the year?
Walker enjoyed a stellar first season with 89 catches (Edmonton rookie record) for 1,110 yards and six TDs despite playing only 12 games (10 starts).
The league will contribute 24 balls to the party, to be used in kicking situations during the Investors Group Field showdown. “We work together very well”, said the six-foot-three 235-pounder, who ranked third in the league with 12 sacks. He was a finalist for most outstanding defensive player in 1987.
Since Reilly’s return, the team has put up a nine-game winning streak.
