Belgian authorities charge man in Paris attacks
Two other suspects questioned in the east Belgian town of Verviers were released.
At least four others have been charged with terrorism related crimes since the attack.
The unidentified man was arrested in Brussels on Thursday. Belgian broadcaster RTBF reported that they were the father and the brother of one of the men charged in Brussels.
His lawyer told Belgian media that Salah admitted to Ali O. that his brother Brahim blew himself up and killed people in Paris.
Oulkadi’s lawyer said on Friday that Oulkadi had driven key Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam across Brussels the day after the atrocities without knowing he had been involved.
“We are with you and we know you are not guilty”, stated his fiancee.
The authorities did not immediately explain what prompted them to reduce the threat level to 3.
Prime Minister Mark Rutte said Friday the legislation “is part of a broad package of measures in the fight against jihadism”.
Paris fugitive Salah is just one of several feared to be at large in the city, where the usually thronged streets have been eerily quiet over the past week when the country was moved to its highest level of security alert.
The first two people to be charged in Belgium over the Paris attacks were Mohammed Amri, 27, and Hamza Attou, 20, who were accused on November 16 on suspicion of helping Salah Abdeslam escape to Brussels after the carnage.
Abrini is on the run and the public have been warned not to approach him as he is described as “probably armed and dangerous”.
