New England Patriots Need a Wide Receiver
“We have a lot of unusual terms”, Brady said. “It hurts on a personal level”. They can not simply rely on Tom Brady to continue to pull wins out of his sleeve.
With only 6 games left in the regular season both teams are still in the playoff hunt.
First they lost offensive tackle Nate Solder with torn biceps, and then his replacement, Marcus Cannon, went out with a toe injury (returned last week), and then HIS replacement, Sebastian Vollmer, was concussed (returned last week), leaving the Patriots with a practice squad tackle and a converted center playing right tackle. The receiver underwent an MRI on Tuesday, which confirmed Amendola did not suffer a major injury in the third quarter on Monday night. “Yeah, we had some bumps along the way, but I hope we take the mistakes that we make and improve on them”. So we’ve got to get creative and think of different things.
New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola (80) runs after catching a pass in the second half …
The defense had its best game against Brady and the Patriots but defense alone isn’t enough in this league, especially one that’s inconsistent.
“There’s going to be mistakes, but let’s play so well that that removes all doubt and takes that out of the factor of us winning or losing”, Whaley told WGR earlier in the day. “Underthrew a couple deep balls, want a couple balls back from that game, but as far as execution, we looked at the stats and we moved the ball well, just didn’t put it in the end zone”.
McCoy also caught six passes for 41 yards to surpass 100 yards from scrimmage for the fourth straight game. Ryan said he was attempting to switch his lineup after seeing New England tight end Scott Chandler running on to the field. “We’ve got to look at it and obviously we tried to spread the ball around, but those are two guys that we need to get the football to”, Ryan said after the loss.
While the Bills defense was not able to completely contain Brady, it limited him to throwing 20-for-39 and 277 yards with one touchdown, a sack and more than 10 non-sack hits.
There isn’t much to debate about how bad the referees were Monday night, but it’s not the reason why the Bills struggled.
Under ordinary circumstances – i.e. a healthy Peyton Manning, even this year’s version – Vegas might favor the Denver Broncos, considering the defensive weaponry they’ll be able to throw at Brady.
According to STATS, Brady was pressured on 45 percent of his dropbacks.
The two plays were the first touchdowns of White’s young career.
Coach Bill Belichick has shown he is willing to go away from the pass if it isn’t working. “And just making sure everyone’s focused, and letting them know I’m focused, and they need to be focused, and that we can all be more focused together”.
Said Taylor, “I’m not going into a game trying to force it to one guy, or another”.
