Cee Lo Honors Robin Williams With New Single
The singer dropped his new single “Robin Williams” on Friday (July 17, 2015) and its lyrics pay tribute to the late comedian, who died last August at the age of 63.
The video is a pretty incredible concept.
In addition to the audio, take a look at the track’s lyric video, which places the comedy legends’ faces within the highlight by way of an interactive Google Search expertise.
“Robin Williams” is the first single off Green’s upcoming album Heart Blanche, his first record since 2012. Cee-Lo goes on mentioning late stars John Belushi, Richard Pryor and Philip Seymour Hoffman, lamenting the loss of “heroes”.
“Robin Williams” arrives accompanied by a visionary companion video, which was directed by PRETTYBIRD director Vania Heymann (Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone”). He last topped charts with 2010’s “F-k You”, a cut off of his most successful album to date, 2010’s The Lady Killer.
On the laidback tune, Cee sings “life reminds of Robin Williams” and how “we’ve got to laugh the pain away”, but adds that “we don’t know what the next man’s going through”.
The interactive portion of the music video comes from Google’s different search categories.
