DeMarcus Cousins unlikely to play against the Golden State Warriors
Cousins, who is averaging 27.9 points and 11.2 rebounds, was injured during Monday’s game at Charlotte and it is unclear whether he will be healthy enough to play against Minnesota.
Shabazz Muhammad had 15 points and Miller added 12 points and four assists to help the Timberwolves to their third straight win and first over the Kings since March 16, 2014. Rudy Gay usually steps up and pours on the points, but he shot just one of 13 for his two points which was pretty shocking as he poured in 36 points just a couple nights earlier against the Bucks. With the loss, Sacramento falls to 6-11 on the season and 4-6 at home. LaVine scored 19 points (14 of them in the second half) while his eight rebounds and four assists both tied for team highs. LaVine was beginning instead of Ricky Rubio, who was sidelined by a left ankle injury. Golden State posted a season best for points and set a franchise record with 22 3-pointers in Friday’s 135-116 road victory over the Phoenix Suns. Miller scored eight in the second quarter, and the Timberwolves used a 20-6 run in that period to take a lead they never relinquished.
Omri Casspi: “No lack of urgency defensively tonight”.
ABOUT THE KINGS (6-10): The victory over Milwaukee was the sixth game Cousins has missed this season and marked the first time Sacramento won without his services. It’s a shame really that Cousins has been hurt, because the Kings were finally starting to play some good basketball, with him taking charge in some big wins on the road. Rajon also finished with 16 points.
Timberwolves: Minnesota did not score any fast-break points and committed 18 turnovers…. It was his fewest points since he was shut out by Golden State on January 23 last season.
It looks like Harrison Barnes isn’t playing for the Golden State Warriors tonight, but DeMarcus Cousins is out for the Sacramento Kings, so…#Winning?
