Lenovo, Razer working on new gaming desktop PCs
This week Razer and Lenovo have announced their intent to collaborate on a series of gaming PCs.
In an announcement made at the DreamHack digital festival in Jönköping, Sweden, on Friday, bigwig PC maker Lenovo said that it has entered into a strategic partnership with gaming hardware manufacturer Razer. “Lenovo will employ its system design and engineering expertise, while Razer will enhance the immersive experience for gamers”.
Razer also says that the two companies are working on more than just PCs and are gearing up to “double down efforts to fast track the development of new technologies, including gaming experience enhancements”. “We believe our partnership is a strong first step that will lead to the delivery of winning PC gaming solutions and a brand new experience to our customers”.
According to PC World, the prototype of the Lenovo Razer Edition PC looks a lot like the Lenovo Y900 gaming desktop.
Lenovo’s red accent lighting has been replaced by green, which is associated with Razer’s gaming products while the bottom portion of the chassis emits multi-chromatic lighting similar to the Razer Chroma series of gaming peripherals.
The details as far as specs and configuration options for the desktop shown are not known, and this seems to be primarily a new branding/style for the Y-series line.
Razer Co-Founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan said, “This agreement opens opportunities to advance the gaming lifestyle through the world-class product in unprecedented ways”.
Expect to hear more about this partnership in the near future!
