Black Friday deals on Amazon Devices

Shoppers are expected to have spent more than £3 billion by the time Cyber Monday ends, after the American phenomenon of Black Friday led to an online surge as customers were inspired to bag bargains. “Some deals, like a 40” HDTV for less than $180 were out of stock in less than five minutes, while other deals were a bit more forgiving.

This Black Friday Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 deal packs a lot of features in such a small frame. Indeed many retailers are rolling out sales over the weekend and into the following week.

Greater Manchester Police said there would not be any specific measures in place for Black Friday this year.

It beat the figure set previous year when more than 5.5 million items were sold at a rate of about 64 per second.

Researcher FootFall reckons Black Friday in-store shopper numbers will be down by up to 4% year-on-year, also impacted by some retailers – including Amazon, Argos, Marks & Spencer and Dixons Carphone – elongating Black Friday activity beyond a single day of discounts.

Retail analyst Greg Bromley from Conlumino, said the online and in-person shoppers were often after a different sales experience, adding: “Online shopping is more considered – you can compare the prices”. Personalisation is a big focus for the online seller throughout the year, particularly for Black Friday, to build more relevant ads for shoppers.

This year’s Black Friday sales have also been spread over a longer period of time by some retailers, including Amazon, Currys and Boots, which have all avoided starting their sales on the Friday, and Argos, which started its sale on Saturday and found demand so strong that its website crashed for a time. That’s a really big plus actually, since numerous deals sellout so quickly, being a Prime member is one of the best cards to hold during Black Friday.

Another regular shopper, Sam McKavanagh, said that Tesco tried not to let him into a store because they weren’t sure he was there to pick up a Black Friday bargain.

The bulk of the Black Friday sales here are offered by online retailers like Zalora and Qoo10, with some brick-and-mortar retailers sitting out. Almost 60 percent started holiday shopping by November 10. Doors opened at 250 of its largest stores earlier than normal at 0500 GMT.

The expanding retailer sells high volume at rock-bottom prices and wants to cut into H&M and Forever 21’s following. Two more Primarks will open next year, at Willow Grove Mall and Freehold Raceway Mall in Freehold, N.J.

To take advantage of doorbusters, the best times to shop are 6 to 8 a.m. But if you’re up for a shopping challenge, the British Black Friday will be right up your street.
