Thanksgiving gas prices lowest in 7 years
Since AAA estimates that holiday gas prices will be the lowest they’ve been in seven years it’s not surprising that more travelers will be taking their journey on the road.
And they are likely to head even lower.
Prices can vary greatly from state to state, depending on the state’s oil tax.

“I think a lot of what has brought us here is ample USA oil inventories”. But experts don’t attribute the low gas prices to the increase in people driving to get their turkey fill.
In West Michigan, Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller says it’s business as usual, and he is working closely with Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport to make sure things are safe. “Prices are dropping very quickly right now”.
Also, some refinery issues -that slowed production – have been worked out.

“We’re coming from Ontario, Canada heading to Florida”, Rousch said.
Since the beginning of November, the prices at the pump have been steadily dropping. Lowest round trip air fares are down about ten percent from a year ago, according to AAA’s Leisure Travel Index of fares and rates on travel during Thanksgiving week, while auto rental rates are up 8 percent and three and two-diamond hotel rates are up one and four percent, respectively. North Dakota crude was priced at $30 per barrel this week at a Twin Cities refinery.
