Noel Gallagher cuts down Cork heckler at Marquee gig
“For the benefit of everybody here, there’s some comedian here who’s just said ‘where’s Liam?'”, the singer said to a chorus of boos.
A source told The Sun: “Despite all the madness and excitement that surrounds Liam’s personal life, he has always been very serious about his music and doesn’t want to be retired or left waiting for his brother to decide he wants to bring Oasis back”.
“Unfortunately he’s not a bigger c*nt that you are”, he replied at 0:48 before adding salt to the wounds and faking to play the tune. “Imagine that, being a bigger c- than our kid”.
Gallagher handled the whole thing with his characteristic good humour, but still launched into a ball-busting rant about the lousy job the muso is doing of promoting himself, making light of the fact that he tried to hand him a CD with no name or contact information on it. “Imagine that”.
Speaking to Italy’s Radio Citta Futura, Gallagher was quizzed on a future Oasis reunion, replying: “Oh one, there’s a one per cent chance it might happen, but I don’t think so”. “I don’t know. I don’t see what the point would be”.
This weekend, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds headlines Latitude Festival. “I’m hoping to get it finished by the end of the year”.
Asked whether or not it’ll be a departure from “Chasing Yesterday”, he said: “Sonically it sounds different, but it will still be very melodic and all that”.
Of course, Gallagher didn’t let the moment go without taking a jab at his brother.
