Danny Amendola to miss game against Broncos with knee injury
WBZ-TV in Boston first reported that Amendola would not travel with the team.
New England has had five wide receivers on its injury report this week, which means that quarterback Tom Brady will have to get creative. The Patriots’ slot receiver was featured heavily in the offense before exiting Week 11’s victory over the Bills with a sprained knee, however, it appears that Amendola is not in danger of being kept out of action on Sunday. A week before that, the Patriots lost running back Dion Lewis for the year with a torn ACL. New England is 10-0 going into their matchup against the Broncos, and they face arguably their toughest challenge against the NFL’s top ranked defense in terms of yards allowed per game. The Patriots officially listed him as questionable on their Friday injury report. The Patriots will have just two healthy wide receivers in Brandon LaFell and Chris Harper, with Keshawn Martin (hamstring) likely forced to play a handful of snaps due to roster limitations.
Another week, another key offensive weapon is out for the Patriots. The Patriots were also without Julian Edelman (foot) and Justin Coleman (hand) at Friday’s session.
