Freezing rain advisory in effect until Saturday morning
Temperatures will hover around freezing.
A complex storm system will continue giving us several rounds of precipitation through Monday predominantly in the form of freezing rain and sleet however snow and rain are also possible.
Albuquerque’s low temperature for the week is predicted to be 29 Friday night. And some returned to cars they had parked on the street or in surface lots and found they had to chip ice from the windshield before heading home. A freezing rain advisory has been issued for the counties in light purple in northwestern Missouri until 6 a.m. Sunday. The changeover to snow will occur this morning over northern sections, such as near Kapuskasing, but not until tonight in the Sault Ste.
Sunday: Freezing drizzle possible throughout the day, with freezing rain and sleet expected Sunday night into Monday.
Higher snowfall amounts are expected in the Timmins and Kirkland Lake areas where snowfall warnings are in effect.
The icy weather won’t stop there – more freezing rain is likely into Saturday, as we track the coldest air we’ve seen so far this season. Environment Canada will continue to monitor this developing situation closely.
