Donald Trump and Ben Carson: the frontrunners no one wants
Thousands of Donald Trump fans packed inside and outside a Sarasota arena Saturday to hear the Republican frontrunner rip Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, super PAC political committees, “phonies” in the press corps (especially the New York Times), Obamacare, “weak” generals leading America’s military, political correctness, Hillary Clinton and assorted people who have doubted or criticized him.
Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for the free campaign rally.
Mr Trump has been among the most vocal of the Republican candidates in raising scepticism about Muslims living in the United States. But after nearly seven months of controversies, Trump-mania has suffered the biggest drop since it took off in July. His latest antics may have offended Republicans outside the one-third of Republicans who still support Trump. I thought everybody knew. “If our candidates continue to go down this path of craziness, then we might as well hand over elections to the other side because the votes are just not there”. That article was written by Serge Kovaleski, who now writes for the New York Times. “Now Carson and Trump are undoing a lot of that work that the party has tried to do…The longer Trump and Carson are around, the more damage is done”. He slammed campaign finance scandals surrounding Republican opponent Ben Carson while boasting his own campaign was nearly entirely self-funded.
“He’s trying to be tough… you can’t act tough you just gotta be tough”, said Trump.
Trump himself noted the change of tone on Saturday.
The celebrity billionaire said he doesn’t even talk about Bush anymore because the former Florida governor is struggling to gain traction in the polls. Within days of Trump’s defense of this assault, five BLM protesters were shot at a rally in Minneapolis by three white men that were reportedly white supremacists.
Bradenton resident Arnie Vatow, 64 said he had no issues with any of Trump’s recent controversial comments, and certainly not regarding Muslims.
Junior Salazar, UNO executive director, said they were having a good time showing people love and peace, despite the backlash they were greeted with from some Trump supporters. So Mr Trump says outlandish things with so much conviction that people are prepared to put aside their doubts about whether they are true and just believe him. Later in the rally Trump referred to the President as Barack Hussein Obama – an accurate description of his full name, but one often used by critics to question his legitimacy as commander-in-chief.
