Army Chief organizes Iftar dinner to honour APS school martyrs
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has on Saturday said that the army will not disappoint the nation in any of the missions assigned to them. General Raheel Sharif met each family and separately expressed his profound grief and solidarity with the bereaved families, a statement from the armys media wing ISPR said.
“The sacrifice of our young martyrs has united the nation”. He paid rich tribute to the martyrs, injured and the fighting soldiers. The tragic APS incident can not be forgotten. “No religion or society allows such massacres”, he said.
General Sharif’s spouse was also accompanying him during the iftar dinner.
Military operation Zarb-i-Azb was launched in North Waziristan on June 15 following a brazen militant attack on Karachi’s worldwide airport and the failure of peace talks between the government and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) negotiators.
The COAS also spoke on ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb, Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) and their effects on law and order situation in Urban centres.
