Ohio State drubs MI, 42-13

Barkley has been the silver lining to an otherwise disappointing season for a Penn State team that Saturday night looked fundamentally flawed and lost at several points and just doesn’t have the talent to keep pace with the mighty Michigan State Spartans.

The game became so lopsided that the fifth-year senior center found himself in the backfield, rather than snapping the ball, following a Penn State turnover during the fourth quarter.

Jake Rudock now has four consecutive games with more than 250 yards passing, he completed 19 of 32 passes for 263 against the Buckeyes.

There might have been years when Ohio State needed a win over MI more than it needed its 42-13 win over the Wolverines on Saturday.

The Wolverines haven’t defended good fast-tempo spread teams in one million years-maybe longer. The Nittany Lions couldn’t stop the 296-pound lineman as he rumbled to the end zone.

The Spartans sealed up the East Division crown with a convincing 55-16 victory vs. Penn State.

“They were pretty much able to run consistently”, said Franklin. Nine plays later, a combination of penalties of loss yardage, Penn State found the endzone via a Chris Godwin reception, his second score of the nigh and ninth reception. But the Spartans answered with three touchdowns in a 1:30 span.

Penn State struggled without national sack leader Carl Nassib and fellow starting defensive end Garrett Sickels, both of whom were injured.
