The Hunger Games Mockingjay-Part 2 (12a)
Good, because “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -Part 2″ wraps up the beloved franchise. She desperately wants to kill Snow, but President Coin (Julianne Moore) doesn’t want Katniss on the frontline: she wants her to stay out of harm’s way and continue to be the face and inspiration behind the uprising. If the Mockingjay novel was made into just one movie, you can’t help to think it would have moved along much faster and been more entertaining, than what this final product ended up being. Katniss also sees the danger to all she holds dear and begins to see discover the secret of why she has been thrust to the forefront of the war and realizes that it may have been a game all along.
The rebels are growing in confidence and strength as the Capitol loses its grip on the outlying districts. Do a shot every time Katniss is knocked out and fights to regain consciousness and my guess is you’ll be just a shell-shocked as she is by the end of the movie. To me, they’ve been a little boring and I grow exhausted of the love triangle between Katniss, Peeta, and Gale. Lawrence appears to be franchise-fatigued at the moment as she will reportedly end her run as Mystique after Fox’s “X-Men: Apocalypse” premieres in 2016. But what they didn’t know, was that Lawrence was being fed instructions, via her own secret earpiece, from her co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson as well as Smosh superfan Dylan Miceli-Nelson. The “Hunger Games” movies have been well-reviewed and the finale is no exception with a 72 percent approval rating from critics counted on Rotten Tomatoes.
Other cast include: Jeffrey Wright as Beetee, Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman, Wes Catham as Castor, Sarita Choudhury as Egeria, Eugenie Bondurant as Tigris, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch, Willow Shields as Primrose Everdeen and Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy.
