Free NFL Pick of the Week: San Diego Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars
A six-game losing streak has the Chargers tied with the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans for the NFL’s worst record, although the Browns now own the strength of schedule tiebreaker for the top pick.
Along with Skuta, three other members of the Jaguars roster are likely to miss out on the Week 12 matchup against the San Diego Chargers.
For Jacksonville, Sunday could mark a significant step forward for their young franchise.
It should be encouraging for the Jaguars that they’re eligible for a trap game this late in the season.
In seven all-time meetings between the two teams, the Chargers have a 5-2 lead, including wins in the last four matchups.
“It’s time like these where it either brings out the best or worst in you”, San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers said. The Chargers losing streak started on a last-second defeat to Pittsburgh, and it hit it’s peak last Sunday in a thirty-point loss to Kansas City.
Rivers now has 40,050 career passing yards.
How rare is it that Jacksonville is the favorite?
It’s the first time in more than five years that Jacksonville has been favoured in consecutive games.
There were impressive numbers for Rivers last season against the Jaguars.
The OddsShark computer is predicting a 28.3 – 21 Jaguars victory.
The Chargers scored their first touchdown on a 2-yard pass from Philip Rivers to Dontrelle Inman that capped a 63-yard, seven play drive. He is one of the best tight ends in recent National Football League history and will record at least 90 yards and two touchdowns today.
Watch as Bortles scrambles parallel to the line of scrimmage and then completely ignore it, running a full three yards past it to deliver a “touchdown pass” to Allen Robinson.
The Chargers have been terrible defensively this season. He’s definitely improved his game, got a lot of confidence in (Blake) Bortles from last season.
The game went right down to the wire with the Packers on fourth and goal from the eight yard line with just 22 seconds to go.
