For the four girl group 4th Impact, fans wanted them to sing “I’ll Be There” by The Jackson 5. Conrad Sewell. The reception from the judges was lukewarm with Simon HATING on the song, although with the track having been picked by the viewers, Lauren was quick to retort: “I just worked with what I was given”. The vocals were on point but Che lost his way – or “messed up”, as his own mentor said – with the track, while apparent fashionista Simon also wasn’t a fan of the outfit.
“Rather than wait until after the show and go outside like everybody else, he smokes in the ad breaks”. It will surely be a challenging song given its success at the moment and he will also tackle Otis Redding’s Try A Little Tenderness which was selected by his mentor.
“They were related. And I think only the people that have connection to each other can sing a record like that and do it justice”, she said.
