Holly Holm is back in Albuquerque
Former UFC champion, Ronda Rousey, is now back in the public eye after her recent loss to Holly Holm who ended her undefeated streak.
Following her loss and injury, she was placed on a medical suspension under which she is prohibited from fighting for 60 days and is not allowed to have contact for 45. “No. For me, it doesn’t make a difference”, she said.
Plans for Rousey to go on hiatus was revealed by her even before UFC 193 took place, with UFC 200 the most likely event that she will reappear. I certainly felt – and I said this in my interviews and breakdowns – there is definitely a way she can win. I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I’m fine.
Dana White is trying to put together a rematch between Holm and Ronda Rousey, but Rousey is now taking an indefinite amount of time off from MMA. But Holm was able to see an opening 59 seconds after the start of the second round.
According to Sydney Morning Herald, Rousey was taken to the hospital after her knockout loss.
With the rematch between the two seemingly the priority of the UFC, other UFC women stars are likely to be asked to wait all the way until after UFC 200 in July before they can have a shot at the women’s bantamweight championship belt.
