Winter storm watch issued for Monday
Southern portions of the WDAY/WDAZ coverage area have the best chance of accumulating snow.
Winter storm watches and warnings were issued Sunday for much of central and southern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, where snowfall may exceed 6 inches from Monday morning through Tuesday evening.
A big hit of snow could drop on Minnesota early next week, the National Weather Service said. The highest totals are expected along and south of the North Dakota/South Dakota border.
WQOW Stormtracker 18 Meteorologists say they are not expecting a lot of precipitation during the day on Monday, rather a light mix of rain and snow, but by Monday night into Tuesday is when travel could become hard as more moisture gets pulled into this system and the wintry mix transitions to all snow.
