Norwich draw with Arsenal
An injury-hit Arsenal side was only able to salvage a 1-1 draw against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday evening.
After Arsenal’s 3-0 Champions League win against Dinamo Zagreb last Wednesday, Wenger told the press that Sanchez had felt tightness in his hamstring.
The Gunners have been ravaged by injuries again, with up to five first-team players on the sidelines, including the likes of Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Gunners suffered through the match, with defender Laurent Koscielny and midfielder Santi Cazorla also getting injured during the match. Arsenal, whose casualty list has been staggering this year, lost Koscielny after 10 minutes with a hip injury and, according to Wenger, a knee problem saw Cazorla playing “on one leg” in the later stages when Arsenal had run out of replacements.
Wenger robustly defended that decision.
“I’m not a coach and I don’t know how it is”. Players are there to play, not to be rested. I must say that with all humility we are not position to predict that, despite all our test he looked alright. We checked it, when you have normal force and normal stretch usually that means there is no problem.
As far as streaming, the game can be obtained through NBC Sports Live Extra and Arsenal Player, both with valid log-ins.
The former Bournemouth forward started his first Premier League match for three-and-a-half months and he capitalised on poor defending by Arsenal to put the Canaries level before half-time. “How bad it is, we’ll have to see that tomorrow (Monday)”.
“Koscielny is a kick on his hip, he can’t move at all, even now”.
“So we will have to assess them all this week”.
Mesut Ozil opened the scoring for Arsenal only for Lewis Grabban to equalize before halftime, and the day went from bad to worse as Sanchez hobbled off clutching his right hamstring after the break.
“You would have thought that some of them would have come here and tried to impose themselves, go toe-to-toe, but that has not been the case”. However, I have a feeling we might be without all three for at least a couple of weeks which will be a major blow.
