Hillary Clinton Wants $275 Billion in Infrastructure Spending
Senator Hillary Clinton campaigning for president during winter 2008.”With Hillary Clinton’s spending binge already at a trillion dollars and counting, it’s clear she wants to treat Americans’ tax dollars like every day is Black Friday with no plan to pay the bill”.
Clinton’s plan would put $250 billion toward direct federal spending on infrastructure, while the remaining $25 billion would be seed funds to launch what her campaign described as a “strategic infrastructure bank”.
Clinton has touted a focus on infrastructure in many of her events across the country over the last few months, promising to spend money on rebuilding the country’s bridges, roads and tunnels and focusing the spending on clean energy.
“Get your sledge hammers ready, because we’ve got a glass ceiling to demolish!” he shouted into the microphone, before turning the stage over to Clinton.
Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, marked the shooting by offering condolences for the victims and arguing “we should be supporting Planned Parenthood, not attacking it”.
While Sanders has secured growing union support in MA and elsewhere, Clinton counter-punched yesterday with Walsh’s endorsement in a Faneuil Hall full of high-level union leaders – the national Ironworkers president, though Local 7 has endorsed Sanders; the United Brotherhood of Carpenters president; and the president of the Laborers’ International Union of North America.
As Walsh offered his endorsement to Clinton at the event, he called out to the union members in the room.
Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin and outgoing Charleston Mayor Joe Riley also have endorsed Clinton, along with other African-American and Democratic mayors and legislators across the state. It is an added layer, but I find Hillary Clinton’s commitment to engaging with people directly at town halls, in open forums, at diners or coffee shops to be refreshing. “To build a strong economy for our future, we must start by building strong infrastructure today”.
Hillary Clinton just followed her flip-flop on immigration with a flip right back.
“Yes, Walsh was glowing in his praise of Clinton, calling her (among other things) a “battle tested” champion” with “heart” and “grit”.
Furthermore, the Democratic presidential front-runner said she wants all American households to have access to high-speed internet by 2020.
“She’s clearly our nominee and I wanted to hear what she had to say”, he said.
Noted. Still, a Clinton win wouldn’t just benefit Walsh’s union brethren, whose collective-bargaining rights Clinton vowed to protect Sunday.
If Walsh enters the crucible of a presidential election and makes a tangible difference – helping, in the process, to elect the first female president of the United States – he’ll achieve something his predecessor couldn’t. “The real reason Hillary Clinton isn’t saying how she’ll pay for her trillion-dollar spending increase is because she knows it means raising taxes on the middle class”.
