Game of the Day: Notre Dame at Stanford

The Irish believe they belong in the CFP with a win against Stanford tonight when we watch the Notre Dame Stanford game live streaming or on TV tonight.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish rank at 22 for scoring 36.5 points where as Stanford Cardinal rank at 33 for allowing 21.5 scores. “Great. But we had time”, Stanford coach David Shaw said. “The goal was to make it in the playoffs. We know that kind of fell away with this loss”. The Irish is also 7-4 against the spread while the Cardinal is 9-2 straight up and 8-3 against the number. One was in a hurricane against the No. 1 team in the country, the other in the final second. “We still have to play the game against Stanford”.

Don’t kid yourself, this game meant more to Hogan than just about any other in his career, if for no other reason because it was against the Irish and because it was the last home game of his career.

It was a wild, impactful weekend across the country… Win that one and it’s off to the national semifinals. The loss knocked the Irish out of contention for the playoff.

With the Stanford defense thinking run, Kizer went deep to Fuller, who out-ran the defense for the big gain.

“We represent Stanford, we’re not carrying anybody”, he said. Here it’s having one point more than your opponent. If the answers to those questions are “yes” and “no”, respectively, this is what we could potentially see. That was the plan, at least. Smith has 99 total tackles, as well as eight tackles for a loss this season.

After two overtimes, TCU had spoiled their rivals season, salvaging what was left of their disastrous November. In the end, it’s the latter that holds the lone remaining hope for the rivalry.

One spot in the playoff is going to the Big Ten, there’s no two ways about it.

Clemson takes a 15-game winning streak into the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game. Stanford’s entire season has unfolded, and it might be done in by a 9 a.m. game on the season’s opening day. One more game- one more HUGE game that could help bring some happy closure to this season and some hope for the next.

With one week left, there’s still so much to be decided as it pertains to the playoffs.
