Amazon Is Working To Bring Instant Video To Apple TV
“Dan, I have interacted with our technical team and have been informed that they are now working in developing a new app for the Apple TV”.
Amazon is working on an Instant Video app for Apple’s new TV, according to an engineer working at Madefire, a storytelling platform, debunking speculations that Apple is closing its doors on the Internet retail giant.
Amazon Video is available on iOS as a free download.
Rumors circulated accusing both Apple and Amazon of blocking an Amazon streaming app on the Apple TV. Right now, Prime subscribers have to use the Instant Video app on their iPhone or iPad, or use an alternate device such as Amazon’s own Fire Stick to view videos on their television.
Amazon Instant Video could be coming to Apple TV. Amazon says that this void might cause confusion among its customers.
Amazon Video is available as part of Amazon’s Prime membership and it is important for the company that they get their video service on as many different platform’s as possible, the Apple TV being a major one.
That same month, Apple took a lot of flak over the apparent decision to reject Prime Video’s application on Apple TV.
While the app may not be available now on Apple TV, Amazon hopes to have its Instant Video available on the service within a few weeks. The streaming service works on a myriad of ecosystems, such as Fire OS, Amazon Fire TV, Android, PlayStation 3 and 4, Roku, Xbox 360 and One, Nintendo Wii and U. It has been available on iOS for over three years, allowing users to stream to their Apple TV using an iPhone or iPad via AirPlay, but there has been no dedicated TV app.
Apple, meanwhile, released a few video streaming apps on its new Apple TV, including HBO Go, Hulu, Netflix, Showtime, and YouTube.
