Manchester City transfer news: Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph heading for transfer
Manchester City’s move for Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph is back on track today, despite the Villans confirming last week the England global was staying put, according to James Robson from Manchester Evening News.
The Aston Villa midfielder was all set to link up with the Premier League runners-up ahead of their pre-season tour of Australia but pulled out of an agreement after experiencing a last minute change of heart.
“I’m aware there has been intense media speculation surrounding my future in the last 24 hours and I want to set the record straight“, he said.
Delph subsequently issued a statement in which he appeared to commit his future to the club, saying: I’m not leaving.
City would likely have to activate the 25-year-old’s £8 million release clause if they are to sign him up, per the Guardian’s Jamie Jackson.
