Dolphins WR Matthews leaves with injuries
Last week NY lost 24-17 to the Houston Texans and put on a season low 267 yards. A win this week would be a nice boost in the rankings, especially with so many teams having the potential to fall back in the race after this week.
“It hasn’t been good enough for us to win consistently”, he said.
Lazor was in his second season with the Dolphins, while Taylor is in his fourth year. Ryan Fitzpatrick and the NY Jets are coming off consecutive losses.
Fantasy owners of Lamar Miller had a tough day in Week 12, as the Dolphins starter did not do much, rushing for just two yards and catching three passes for 11 yards.
Fitpztrick threw a season-high 4 touchdowns on Sunday.
In that Week 4 win over the Dolphins, the Jets outgained Miami in total yards, 425-226, and held the Dolphins to 0-for-12 on third downs and 0-for-4 on fourth downs. Taylor joined the Dolphins from Texas A&M University, where he served as the offensive graduate assistant and tight ends coach. NY would add to their lead on a 41-yard Randy Bullock field goal, and Miami capped it off with a Davante Parker TD catch from 33 yards out.
“They run hard and they’ve done a lot of positive things”, Suh said of Ivory and the Jets’ ground game. We have to remember that Smith missed significant time in camp through injury, really hindering his development. The first game was between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Detroit Lions, although in essence only one of the teams seemed to turn up as the Lions routed the Eagles 45-14. Fitzy tossed for 277 yards and four touchdowns on Sunday, to the tune of a 118.9 QBR. The wideout finished the game with nine catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
Fitzpatrick also threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Devin Smith and a 2-yard touchdown to wide receiver Eric Decker. Fitzpatrick picked on Brent Grimes whenever he matched up with Marshall, and found some success. Maybe that’s why they were pasted by the Jets.
“We got whipped the first time [Miami played the Jets]”.
Odell Beckham Jr. has been one of the few positive sparks for the Giants offense over the past few weeks. The Jets list of injuries has increased as Zac Stacy suffered a season ending, fractured ankle during their Thursday night loss to the Bills, Bilal Powell hasn’t suited up since Week 6 as the young buck has also been struggling with his own ankle issues, leaving the Jets with Ivory as the work horse. He would go to the locker room as well.
Defensive tackle Earl Mitchell was doubtful to return after hurting a calf muscle in the second quarter.
Later, the Cowboys’ star quarterback injured the same left collarbone that had kept him out for seven games, and the latest loss leaves the Cowboys on 3-8 and all but out of the reckoning for the Playoff spots. QUESTIONABLE: LB Jelani Jenkins (ankle), WR Jarvis Landry (knee), LB Koa Misi (abdomen), LB Spencer Paysinger (neck), LB Kelvin Sheppard (hamstring).
Outlook: Looking ahead to Week 13, both teams will be back in action on Sunday, December 6 at 1:00 PM ET on CBS.
