Messi, Neymar, Suarez on target in big Barca win over Sociedad
Neymar opened the scoring with a composed left-foot finish before Luis Suarez doubled the lead with a brilliant volley before half-time.
With the result beyond doubt, Neymar and Suarez went to pains to try and set up their strike partner Messi, who went close three times and struck the upright before he got his goal to round off the rout in stoppage time.
“It’s true that my father said that the tax issues are a problem, but we’re talking all that over”.
Given the totally dominant performances of late it seems impossible to imagine that anyone can stop Barca racing to yet another La Liga title, especially with their terrifying attacking trio continuing all guns blazing.
“The important thing is at the start of the game to resolve the games in the best way possible and, once the game is under control at 3-0, I understand that it happens”, added Enrique over Neymar and Suarez’s work to get Messi on the scoresheet.
Neymar then effectively put the match to bed in the 53rd minute with his 14th goal in 12 league appearances so far this campaign.
FC Barcelona cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win at home to Real Sociedad on Saturday afternoon to strengthen their position at the top of the BBVA Primera Liga.
The Basque side have alternated wins and defeats in their last five away games in La Liga and they lost their last trip against Las Palmas.
The hosts had won nine and drawn one of their last ten matches heading into Saturday’s game, and would have been heavily favoured to pick up another win against 14thplaced La Real.
To their credit, Real Sociedad didn’t sit back and defend in their own half and the side coached by former Barca player Eusebio Sacristan looked to move the ball in midfield themselves.
The trip are likely to start together against Real Sociedad, while coach Luis Enrique has to make a decision over the fitness of Javier Mascherano and Sergio Roberto, who suffered knocks against Real Madrid and Roma respectively.
Messi is tipped to win the award for a fourth time, but there’s an increasing amount of people who believe the Brazilian deserves second spot ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo – or at very least a place among the top three. I see the players are enjoying what we’re doing; that’s clear. “I am happy when Suarez and Messi score – and they are when I do it”. We are in a good moment, and we intend to extend it to the fullest.
