North Iowa under winter storm warning

In South Dakota, totals of over 16 inches were reported. The heaviest snow will be in southwestern Minnesota.

Areas of the Midwest such as Kansas are expected to get above freezing as the week progresses, though northern states are in for snow.

Precipitation is still possible throughout the day in Lincoln, although with temperatures hovering at the freezing mark, snow accumulation will turn into a slushy mix, forecasters said. Some freeways and ramps were ice covered, with reports of several trucks not able to negotiate the ice on uphill exit ramps. This will affect commutes for Monday afternoon rush hour and Tuesday.
