Rousey: I’ll be back
Nearly immediately after Holm’s shocking knockout victory on Saturday which made her the new Women’s Bantamweight Champion, rumblings began about a rematch between the two somewhere down the line, and Holm has already come out and said that she believes Rousey deserves one.
Prior to her fight against Holly Holm, Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey, the UFC fighter from Riverside, California, held a record of 12-0-0 (12 wins, 0 losses, and 0 draws), according to the UFC. Rousey was temporary knocked out from the blow, and spent the night in an Australian hospital where she received stitches to close a “very big gash” on her bottom lip.
Mayweather predicted Rousey will bounce back in time and perhaps even become stronger for having had to endure her latest experience.
Needless to say, some people eagerly took to social media to express their joy over seeing the brash 28-year-old get a reality check.
When a TMZ photographer asked Ali if she was surprised by the outcome of the November 14 fight, she said she wasn’t.
The ex-UFC bantamweight world champion was hospitalised after suffering an emphatic second-round defeat to Holm in Melbourne on Sunday. Well you just got beat, bitch!
“I’m going to take a little break, but I’ll be back” wrote Rousey on her Instagram.
But Dolce, who was part of Rousey’s camp for the Etihad Stadium encounter, said his fighter will return a more learned athlete.
“I’ve never been on the other side, so I don’t know how it feels”, said Mayweather, widely considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport.
The higher the pedestal, the further the fall, but the person that ended Rousey’s reign doesn’t think the negativity expressed toward the former champion is warranted.
One of MMA’s most visible coaches is caught in the crosshairs following a loss to his top student. Her ground game is unbelievable.
Indeed, Rousey was right about the way the fight would end.
