Christopher McQuarrie Will Return At The Helm For Mission: Impossible 6
Confirmed via tweet by McQuarrie (which could self destruct in 5 seconds), this comes as welcome news for Mission Impossible fans.
The Mission: Impossible franchise will officially see its first returning director in 2017.
Christopher McQuarrie is ready to accept another Mission: Impossible.
If it isnt broken, dont fix it. Christopher McQuarries Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation continued the franchises upward swing in quality and reaffirmed the notion of Tom Cruise as a force to be reckoned with at the box office. “We’re starting to work on it now”, Cruise said about the possibility of a sixth movie. But for the followup to this summer’s hit “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation”, Cruise has chose to forgo tradition and employ the director of that film, a longtime pal. Cruise may or may not be starring in Universal’s The Mummy reboot, which starts filming early next year, but production for Mission: Impossible 6 is scheduled to get underway around next August-an uncharacteristically tight turn around for the series. Here’s hoping Rebecca Ferguson-the standout of Rogue Nation and an actress on the cusp of superstardom-returns for the next installment as well. He was also responsible for penning the screenplay for Edge of Tomorrow.
