Salvation Army needs bell ringers

Though the Minnesota couple who wrote the check wishes to remain anonymous, they did explain to the Salvation Army some of the reasons behind their generosity.
They’re real people, and they need the help and the food.
Everett Allison, a Salvation Army volunteer and “head bell ringer”, said his job is to go around to the various red kettle locations and fill in for bell ringers who need to take a break.
The two also said they were inspired by challenges earlier in their lives that forced them to collect food discarded at a grocery store to feed themselves.
Monday, the charity organization announced that this season’s goal is to raise $250,000, which is double last year’s mark. “This way we’re able to use the building as best as we can for Christmas time”, Eisley said. So far this year, “St. Grand” has donated $4,400 in four different drops across the Minneapolis area. Its the only major fundraiser we do every year, so all of the money that comes in from our campaign allows us to do everything we do as the Salvation Army within the Foothills throughout the rest of the year..
Some of the people who would normally eat their Thanksgiving dinner right outside the Salvation Army will eat just a few steps away at the East Texas Dream Center.
