Smith leads Chiefs past Bills

Considering their injuries, it’s hard to see them pulling that off. It’s not “win or go home”, but it’ll be nice for them to get home for Houston next week after three straight away from the Ralph.

In a Sunday afternoon battle of AFC teams trying to keep alive hopes of a postseason berth, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills 30-22 at Arrowhead Stadium.

Buffalo jumped out to a 10-0 first-half lead and possessed all the game’s momentum early, only to be dominated over the final three quarters, outscored 30-12. They combined on six passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns in the first two quarters. And after Watkins caught a combined six passes for 53 yards the past two games, Ryan totally agreed with him.

“We’ll continue to build chemistry and get better at that”, Maclin said.

Field Conditions – I get it, it was raining nonstop and grass can only hold so much water, but wow did that effect the game for both teams.

– With how the two teams are built, along with the expected weather (30’s and rainy), this game has all the makings to be a quick, run-heavy, and low-scoring contest that will favor whichever team has the best performance on the ground that day.

“It was a huge game”, Johnson said.

If you missed it, Ryan didn’t challenge a 37-yard completion to Jeremy Maclin that set up a Chiefs touchdown. Alex Smith has now thrown 283 passes without an interception.

They connected for a 48-yard reception on the game’s opening drive to set up Dan Carpenter’s 27-yard field goal. That combination kept clicking at the start of the third quarter, setting up a 15-yard connection between Smith and tight end Travis Kelce in the end zone.

Chiefs left guard Jeff Allen had to be helped off the field midway through the second quarter with a left ankle injury.

While the Chiefs defense was the catalyst of the first four wins during the win, quarterback Alex Smith and the offense was the reason Kansas City extended its win streak.
