My Wife and I will be in India – Aamir Khan
After Aamir Khan’s statement on the “intolerance row” going viral on the social media and elsewhere, the actor has been surrounded by a lot of criticism and also by some members of the film fraternity.
Aamir Khan’s clarification comes after a storm over his comments on Monday. “This kind of comment influenced by a politically motivated campaign insults those who have given so much honour to Aamir in India”, said Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the Minister of State for Minority Affairs.
Advocate Manoj Kumar Dixit, who filed the case against the actor, maintained that Khan’s remarks amounted to sedition. “Leave whatever glory this country has given you, here only”, the BJP ally said in an editorial in party mouthpiece “Saamana”.”Only Aamir knows why he wanted to leave the country and why did he take his filmy wife’s remarks so seriously”, the Sena said.
A total of 320 respondents voted, but refrained from taking sides. Khan signed off the statement with “Jai Hind”. “I just want to say that there is no intolerance but when somebody has a point of view everybody jumps on him and attack him”, Farah said at an event here. “That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm”, he had said at the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards.
“His wife is Hindu, she has also felt it, that with this kind of uncultured and intolerant atmosphere, it looks like those who are fighting against this will have to leave the country”.
“We are neither connected nor play a role in comments made by Aamir Khan in his personal capacity”, Snapdeal said in a statement.
Aamir thanked all those people whoever has stood by him during this hour. Speaking on the raging issue of intolerance in the country to a TV channel, Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir today said, “I dont think intolerance has gone up in the country”. We have to protect what this attractive and unique country of ours really stands for. “We have to protect its integrity, diversity, inclusiveness, its many languages, its culture, its history, its tolerance, it’s concept of “anekantavada”, its love, sensitivity and its emotional strength”. “Secondly, I stand by everything that I have said in my interview”, Khan said.
