Josh McCown starting for Ravens versus Browns
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel arrives at an NFL football game Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, between the Baltimore Ravens and the Browns in Cleveland. For the Browns, Josh McCown returns to the starting quarterback role after the demotion of Johnny Manziel (man-ZEHL’) for lying to the team about some recent partying. Manziel’s wild antics have landed him in third (yes, third) on the Browns’ depth chart, and McCown is back behind center for a 2-8 team that just feels destined to land the No. 1 overall pick.
Baltimore now turns to 34-year-old Matt Schaub, who hasn’t started a game in two years, as it tries to salvage this nightmare season. It has become painfully obvious that Manziel can not and will not succeed with the Cleveland Browns.
Gilbert was a healthy scratch for the Browns’ last game on November 15. James Hurst is slated to start at tackle for Monroe and John Urschel should start at guard in place of Osemele.
Baltimore is already missing starting quarterback Joe Flacco (knee) and running back Justin Forsett (broken arm). McCown has thrown 11 touchdowns and just four interceptions in the seven games he played before he was sidelined with a rib injury. Both sustained season-ending injuries last week against St. Louis.
The Browns remain without star cornerback Joe Haden as well as wide receivers Taylor Gabriel and Andrew Hawkins.
