Microsoft Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL come to India
The phones can be pre-booked starting today, and will be available to buy from December 11.
Moving on to the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, it features a 5.7-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The Lumia 950 XL has a 5.7-inch display, and a huge 3340mAh battery that’s replaceable too. The company has worked up on keeping the device cool even during heavy processing.
Global software major Microsoft, which bought Finnish teleco Nokia past year, on Monday launched here two models of Lumia – 950 and 950XL smart-phone with Windows 10. Both will come with 32GB of on-board storage which can be expanded using micro SD card. The Lumia 950 XL phone adorns a 20MP rear snapper with support of triple LED flash, 5th gen OIS, 1/2.4 sensor, f/1.9 aperture, and 4K video recording capabilities.
Windows 10 Mobile comes with a cool one-handed mode for those of you who own a Lumia 950 or Lumia 950 XL and find it hard to maneuver around the screen with one hand. In addition, the newly launched flagships also feature adaptive antenna technology along with liquid cooling, and will run the latest Windows 10 Mobile OS out-of-the-box.
The devices include innovative features such as Cortana, Windows Hello beta for Lumia, and Continuum for phones, a statement from the company said.

Microsoft also launched its new “display dock”, priced at Rs5,999 (but free for the initial launch period).
The Lumia 950XL is the bigger version of the smartphone with a few changes. The carrier’s AU$80 a month plan will give customers Lumia 640 at no additional cost bundled with Lumia 950 over a 24 months contract.
Both the top-of-the-line Lumia phones can also be unlocked via facial recognition, and can charge to over 50 per cent of battery power in less than 30 minutes thanks to USB Type C connectors. It packs a 3,000 mAh battery which offers 18 hours of talktime and 288 hours of standby time.
