Christie on US Muslims Cheering on 9/11: ‘It Didn’t Happen’
Chris Christie responds at the CNN Republican…
Donald Trump has defended his declaration that he saw thousands of Muslims in Jersey City celebrate the 9/11 terror attacks. “I was there”, Christie said.
With that in mind, Team Clinton privately has been slapping high fives after every new Trump outrage.
“You demand, and you’ve demanded of me, pinpoint accuracy when we report on things about you, including, for instance, your net worth”. “I think it’s clarifying”. Kessler says he has given Trump more Pinocchios than any other candidate in this cycle.
“It was a pretty emotional time for me because, as I’ve mentioned before, there’s family involved, there were, you know, friends involved and it was a pretty harrowing time”, the New Jersey governor added. “I know that, he knows it too”, Christie said. At a rally last week, Trump said “thousands and thousands of people were cheering” in Jersey City as the World Trade Center buildings across the Hudson River in lower Manhattan. Rumors about such cheering have never been substantiated, even though Trump says he witnessed these incidents.
Trump’s latest dust-up, which boiled over during the past few days, stems from his mockery of a New York Times reporter while Trump was giving a speech in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, last week.
“It didn’t happen, and the fact is people can say anything but the facts are the facts, that did not happen in N.J. that day and it hasn’t happened since”, Christie said.
“You shouldn’t be making fun of people with disabilities.
I was there”, Christie stated.
But on CNN tonight, Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson argued maybe the reason that there’s no video evidence to back Trump up is because cell phone technology wasn’t as advanced back then.
“Many people saw it in person”, Trump said. Still, asked if he believes Trump knew what he was doing, Christie said it “appeared that way”.
Do you think that Islam is an inherently peaceful religion that’s been, by some small percentage as you just said, whatever the percentage is, perverted by some or do you think Islam is an inherently violent religion? “I’m gonna support the Republican nominee”.
The shot comes after an influential conservative New Hampshire newspaper endorsed Christie for president. Christie said he thinks he’ll win the key first-in-the-nation primary state.
Eventually people tell us who they are.
