It Looks Like Tony Romo Could Be Done For The Season
He ended up losing for the first time in four starts this season.
The Cowboys will now look to Cassel, but he has a hard task, as the Cowboys are in last place in the NFC East. Dallas acquired Cassel through a trade earlier this season, but he has yet to get a win as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback.
“I had a nightmare last night”, Jones said, “and I was hoping when I woke up this morning it was just that”. “[Romo] is a warrior”. Romo-led Cowboys teams are also 2-4 in the playoffs since 2006. To have that happen to him again [is] unfortunate. Kurt Coleman picked off Romo’s second pass of the game and took it back 36 yards for the opening score.
Romo will not undergo surgery as he attempts to return ahead of the 2016 campaign. A number of quarterbacks might be available at that point including Paxton Lynch of Memphis or Jared Goff of Cal. Either would make an ideal understudy for Romo and give this team a chance to fully realize the potential of that strong roster.
Cam Newton sprinted to a corner of the $1.2 billion showplace of the Dallas Cowboys, pointing a camera at celebrating Carolina fans while gesturing to them with a wide smile. Romo left the field favoring his left arm after remaining on the turf for several minutes.
Panther coach Ron Rivera said they practised plays like those and this time it worked out.
“Whether you like it not, when you don’t play for eight weeks it’s tough to come back and be the guy you want to be”, said Cowboys Vice President Stephen Jones.
“I know Tony wanted it so bad, and sometimes you push”. “There’s no evidence that we brought him back too soon”.
“I don’t think push was the word for it”, Jerry Jones said.
Romo is averaging about $18 million through the life of his contract signed before the season. A follow-up check-up on the collarbone is expected later this week and could decide the status of Romo.
Inside linebackers Jerrell Freeman (ribs), D’Qwell Jackson (hamstring) and Sio Moore (back), cornerbacks Vontae Davis (hamstring) and D’Joun Smith (knee) and running back Frank Gore (ankle) are all listed as probable.
BILLS: Defensive tackle Kyle Williams will undergo surgery on his left knee and miss the rest of the season.
But the offseason will have to wait.
“I felt it. It has a little bit of a pop to it. Obviously I’ve felt it before”. The team, who plays their home games in Maryland, is 4-6 thus far. So we know how good they are.
