Arsenal ready to sign Edin Dzeko from Man City
Arsenal are being tipped to make a move to sign Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko this summer in a bid to improve their options up front, according to the Daily Star.
This has given the French manager’s side a boost, with Wenger looking to sign him and add more attacking options to his current squad.
However it appears that the club have turned their attentions to Dzeko after finding the Frenchman hard to sign.
This isn’t the first time we’ve been credited with an interest in the Bosnian worldwide and the paper says that his name has once again been discussed by Wenger and his scouting team during talks about potential striker targets.
The 29-year-old is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League and has been told he can leave City this summer for the right price. His height and arial ability would set him apart from the rest of Arsenal’s forwards, and his record of 71 goals in 185 appearances for City means he would virtually guarantee goals.
The report claims that Italian side Roma are also eager to secure the Bosnia and Herzegovina global captain’s services for the upcoming season, but Dzeko would rather stay in England and play for Arsenal.
But if the Gunners could persuade the Citizens to sell, I actually think Dzeko would be an astute signing and he’d provide useful competition to Olivier Giroud without breaking the bank.
