He cited a “glut of orders” as the reason for the extension.
With the Defender soon to be retired for good, at least as a Land Rover model, fans are understandably keen to secure one of the rugged 4WDs while they still can.
LONDON – Jaguar Land Rover could extend production of its current-generation Land Rover Defender into early next year as it mulls where to build the iconic SUV’s successor.
“Many of our students have gone on to work for Jaguar Land Rover and we know that over the next three years the partnership will benefit our students and staff providing experiences and strengthening skills important for the working world”.
With Tata badges, the Defender is unlikely to be sold in any official capacity in the European Union but Tata’s Australian distributor may yet decide that a market exists for such a vehicle locally.
Les Ratcliffe, Head of Community Relations, Jaguar Land Rover, added, “Jaguar Land Rover believes that the success of our global business – and the United Kingdom economy – lies in engineering and innovation”.
Hop to it, then.
