Prince Harry falls from polo pony at charity match
Sharing his pic with a young man on Instagram, the Prince Henry of Wales KCVO wrote, “Some of the boys who are supported by Ottery Youth Centre #CapeTown shared their experiences with Prince Harry today”.
The Palace stood by Prince Harry’s side and said that “He didn’t do anything unlawful”, and even added that “What he did was entirely his own business”.
Harry, who was captaining a team in the event, had a dramatic fall from his polo pony during the match – before losing his seating for a second time as the game neared its climax.
There is no doubt Prince Harry left an excellent impression on all the youngsters he met during his visits to both Lesotho and South Africa. “My anger started to go out of me”. I knew that I was going to see him.
Following the game Harry also urged more Premier League footballers from Africa to speak out to young people on hard issues including HIV.
The youth centre looks after teens from troubled backgrounds something Harry, who was educated at the prestigious Eton College, thinks would have been great for him growing up. “I am very interested to hear all of your stories”.
‘Older brothers are supposedly the cool ones… He said, “I thought [Prince Harry] was going to come here with a lot of body guards”.
The 31-year-old Royal is visiting South Africa as part of a Royal Tour in that has included the Opening of a brand new Charity Centre for kids in Lesotho & consists of stops in Durban, Cape Town, Kruger National Park & Johannesburg.
While there however, Prince Harry appeared to relax for the first time since his latest visit to South Africa began, messing around with young footballers on the pitch, giving each other electric shocks from the static built up in their shoes. When I was at school I wanted to be the bad boy, ‘ he said.
The prince, on behalf of his grandmother, then presented the archbishop with the Order of the Companions of Honour, a medal given to people for outstanding achievements in arts, culture and religion.
“The fact of the matter is that they came along and agreed with me when I said we wanted sanctions against the apartheid regime”.
