After the incident in Boston, it was reported that another altercation involving Okafor and a heckler in Philadelphia resulted in a gun being pointed at Okafor and teammates outside of a club.

There is no doubt that Okafor is an impressive talent and not drafting him would have been a huge mistake. “Of course you know we have internal security”. One would hope that the potentially life-threatening situation led to a change in Okafor’s behavior.

For his part, Okafor has yet to taste his first win as an National Basketball Association player. Two players acquired in multi-years deals during the offseason – Kyle O’Quinn and Derrick Williams – have been in-and-out of the rotation.

When Jahlil Okafor was drafted #3 overall by the Philadelphia 76ers this past draft, he was considered to be a surefire stud from opening night. Now, there are going to be new jokes about Philadelphia not being able to keep their players out of trouble. At just 19-years of age, the star center is clearly the most valuable trade commodity of the three Philly big men. The 76ers management team needs to show Brown and the rest of the world that they are competent enough to run a professional sports franchise properly.
