Itagaki doesn’t recommend using the Wii U GamePad to play Devil’s Third
Devil’s Third may be getting panned in the pre-release previews that have been coming out for it, but director Tomonobu Itagaki from Valhalla Games, it seems, is fully committed to standing by his product.
Devil’s Third hasn’t been received well. He recommends playing with either a Wii U Pro Controller or a USB keyboard.
It was later saved by Nintendo to become a Wii U exclusive, with Nintendo proudly showing off their new acquisition at E3 2014. Discussing the game, he pointed out that it will run in 30 FPS, a stark contrast from nearly every other major Wii U title; nonetheless, he assured fans that the game will be perfectly enjoyable in 30 FPS. “I never wanna discount standard tab-controller”.
The lucky few who have been able to play Devil’s Third claim frame rate issues are heavily plaguing the game.
“1. Four face buttons are positioned overcrowding”. We have yet to see a release date announced for North America. In a recent Facebook post, he even discouraged gamers from using the WiiU gamepad to play the game, the main controller for the console. So you easily press the wrong button. “It will be much appreciated if you use your imagination to get the depth when you play the multiplayer“. In that case, you will die. This Wii U based action/shooter hybrid has been catching flack for relying on shock value, being bad, being good, being on the Wii U… you name it, folks have been talking about it.
The game will also not contain voice chat as the bandwidth needed for such a feature would cut into the 16-player online multiplayer. We understand it’s going to be a very tough job to evaluate such a game.
Devil’s Third is still set to debut next month in Japan and Europe.
