Amber alert issued in New Jersey

The suspect is believed to be en route to New Jersey.

The suspect, who police have identified as the victim’s husband, Diomedes Valenzuela then fled – with Rebecca, their daughter – in a 2004 Silver Dodge Caravan with a New Jersey license plate. Police say Valenzuela then grabbed the girl and took off. Around 5 p.m. Valenzuela’s vehicle was stopped by New Jersey State Troopers on the Garden State Parkway in Clifton, and he was taken into custody. The suspect, Diomedes Valenzuela, is a Hispanic male, 47-years-old, with brown eyes. Police say the mother was hospitalized in critical condition.

His daughter is 3-feet and weighs 40 pounds.

The Amber Alert has been extended to the NY area.

Rebecca Valenzuela is described as 2 feet, 6 inches tall and about 30 pounds.
